Do you remember Mike Myers? That man who made the hilarious and down-to-earth comedy Wayne's World and the crazy spy parody Austin Powers that won us all over? Well I suggest that you hold on to that memory and lock it tight inside you, and if you see a poster with a beardy guy who looks like him with The Love Guru written on it just run away and forget you ever saw it. This movie is the death knell of his comedy career, and to such an extent that it may even sully the memories of his long-departed comedy classics.

I think the crux of the problem is just that he has run out of comedy material and has no idea how to flesh out his ideas. The movie is an attempted mockery of the American importing of Eastern guru wisdom that sees Myers reprise the lead role as Guru Pitka, an American educated in India by Guru Tugginmypudha (Ben Kingsley). He wants to be the best Guru in the states and to do so has to coach Toronto Maple Leafs star Darren Roanoake (Romany Malco) through some life problems in order to get on Oprah and win the acclaim ...

End the pain, end the misery.

You would have thought that after five years on break from live-action movies, Mike Myers would have come back with something different - something maybe of some artistic integrity but no, it's the same tired old act that he has shoved down our throats for over 15 years now.

His latest piece of cinematic tripe is The Love Guru - a movie about an American raised outside of his country by guru's who returns to the States so he can break into the self-help business. The acting "Gods" that are Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake co-star alongside Verne Troyer - who will be happier to see Myers back more than most so he can continue to earn a paycheck.

This one opens in five weeks time in the U.S. (August U.K). I really desperately hope this makes no money at all and gives Myers a complete wake-up-call that he has to actually change his act if his career as a big name star is going to continue.

Of course that won't happen. This movie will make over $100 million and a sequel will be in our theatres no later than 2011. Either that or another Austin Powers movie.

Here's ...

Ok, so I just watched the trailer for Michael Myers' first live action movie in five years with The Love Guru and all I can bring myself to wonder is WHY?

WHY didn't he just make Austin Powers 4 or a Dr. Evil movie?

This Love Guru character is the thinnest alteration of his most famous incarnation Austin Powers. I really don't get what he is trying to do here. He's even got Verne Troyer in there and they are re-doing lines and jokes that Mini-Me and Austin shared together!

Watch the trailer in HD Here.

Watch Myers reaction in the opening moments of his first appearance (Dr. Evil like tone of voice, and obligatory facial eyebrow movement).

The strange way he can move his legs round the back of his neck (Goldmember from Austin Powers 3).

"It's my time to shine" Said in Austin Powers tone.

The weird physical humor.

"I didn't catch your gnome, NAME!" does that remind you of the "mole" gags in the last Austin Powers movie?

Verne Troyer just like Minni-Me gets abused by being hit in the head!

Obligatory dance number.

and you can go on and on and on. I guess we shouldn't be too surprised when you consider this is the directorial debut ...
