Scottish comic book writer Grant Morrison has told MTV Splash Page that he can't talk about Warner Bros. much attempted adaptation of THE FLASH... but then goes ahead to talk about THE FLASH... without, apparantely actually talking about it.

Though he clearly does.

Confused? Well here is what he says...
“The thing with Hollywood stuff,” Morrison started to explain, “is that I’ve signed all these NDAs, so I can’t talk about it. I don’t want to get myself in trouble for saying the wrong things. There’s a lot of projects I’m not ready to talk about. I can’t. It’s just not allowed.”
Which led to WB and THE FLASH...
“Yes, I have talked to them. I’m deeply involved in those discussions. I know what’s going down with all of that, and it’s actually really exciting. But beyond that, I can’t say anything. I wish I could tell you. I’m sure announcements will probably be made at some point, but I can’t say anything.”
So if he is in talks, he must be in talks about something? There would be no annoucements if he wasn't.

Morrison is known for his playing with narrative structure (Chris Nolan) and his recent work on Batman in the comics industry has led ...

This popped into my inbox today in response to yesterday's article about Louis Letterier "knowing" of a Superman reboot...
Mr. Matt Holmes,

After your recent article was brought to my attention, I figured you would enjoy this. So far it hasn't been posted anywhere, but we know this image was sent to a few websites within the last day including IESB, SuperheroHype, Superman Homepage, and our site as well. Unfortunately for us, the image is part of a proposal we are putting together to pitch a reboot trilogy of Superman to WB. The artist's cousin who took the photo didn't know he works for me and I was one of the people copied on their email. It also included a number of pages to our script, but I'm trying to keep those under wraps still. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me any time.

In regards to this recent news involving Mark Millar and now Louis Letterier, I can tell you that there are at least four groups preparing to pitch reboot ideas with us being one of them. There could be more.
Said image (I will keep the integrity of the person who sent ...

There are three reasons why a Justice League of America movie is currently in development...

Because the 2009 superhero tentpole slot for Superman: The Man of Steel was ditched after Singer began stalling on a new Supes movie and because Superman Returns wasn't the success WB hoped, the search soon turned to what superhero franchise they could make profit from.

Because of an unexpected but fantastic script that fell into their hands.

Because of the two reasons above and the fact that for years they had been trying to get a Wonder Woman and The Flash movie off the ground but all the pieces didn't fall into the right place... and this was seen as a way to kickstart those characters for possible future movies.

The news today confirms that reason number 3, is probably the deal-breaker..

MTV report that Warner Brothers are still planning a stand-alone movie for The Flash and have actually attached their third different director in a year to take the helm. Previously David Goyer had spent a couple of years working on the picture, only to be dropped in February and to be replaced by Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy... who it was claimed had a closer mindset ...

So the last we heard on a movie adaptation of DC Comic's character The Flash was way back in February on the weekend I dubbed "Black Saturday" when not only did David Goyer leave The Flash but Joss Whedon also gave up the reigns to Wonder Women. Both guys had spent years trying to get those respective projects off the ground and they both claimed it was because of differences with Warner Brothers that they had to pull out.

A couple of days later Night at the Museum helmer Shawn Levy was said to be on board for The Flash and the indications were the film would be go quickly into development.

Since then it's come to light what is really going on over at Warner Brothers. As first reported three weeks after Goyer left The Flash and now it's recently been confirmed... a Justice League of America movie is in development which could and probably will begin production early next year and be released as soon as the summer of 2009.

Back when Goyer was handling The Flash, there was one name who was constantly attached to the project... Ryan Reynolds. A fine actor, who has recently shown his chops in Smokin' ...

Just days after David Goyer announced that he had left The Flash, The Hollywood Reporter claim that hack director Shawn Levy has boarded the project. Oh dear.

Yes that's right, the guy who totally butchered the fun concept of Night at the Museum. The guy who badly remade The Pink Panther and brought us the hideous Cheaper by the Dozen comedy. This hack director who really hasn't got a clue is now handling the writing and directing gig of the quickest superhero from the DC universe.

The main problem I have with the guy is that he rushes through his movies, giving us such a paint by numbers movie that is so uninteresting it puts you to sleep. The Flash won't contain any style or any artistic merit and instead will be a very light-hearted superhero movie, probably in the vein of Sky High or something.

One thing's for sure, he has a completely different mentality from the darker David Goyer, so it's pretty obvious what direction they are hoping Levy takes this picture.
