Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro and Owen Wilson have signed on to star in LITTLE FOCKERS, the third in the "MEET THE" trilogy after MEET THE PARENTS and MEET THE FOCKERS according to The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business Blog.

Universal previously were to call the movie MEET THE LITTLE FOCKERS but have now shortened that title to avoid audience embarrassment at the box office booth.

This time around, the movie will find Stiller and his wife (played by Teri Polo, who we believe has also signed on) as new parents. De Niro will return as Polo's Dad, always suspicious of her daughter's husband's intentions, though most of the time it's out of pure bad luck and coincidence that he is shown up in a bad light.

Wilson, who had small-ish roles in the first two movies as Polo's ex-boyfriend, perfect in her father's eyes, is said to have a bigger part this time.

AUSTIN POWERS director Jay Roach who helmed the first two movies will only produce this time and the three favourites to take over from him in the director's chair are Peyton Reed (YES MAN, THE BREAK-UP), Paul Weitz (IN GOOD COMPANY, ABOUT A BOY) and David Wain (ROLE MODELS).

"What just happened?" is a nice phrase for summing up the speed at which things can change in Hollywood.

One minute - or to be more precise, for 101 minutes - Robert De Niro's likeable, put upon producer Ben is juggling the director from Hell (Michael Wincott), a ball-breaking boss (Catherine Keener) and a star who refuses to shave off his beard in time for principle photography (Bruce Willis), and the next Brad Pitt wants him to make a project about a flower arranger and he's right back on top.

As a result, it's hard to take WHAT JUST HAPPENED? as anything other than light entertainment, which is disappointing given it's based on the memoir and subsequent script by Art Linson, the producer behind FIGHT CLUB and HEAT, and from the veteran director Barry Levinson (RAIN MAN, GOOD MORNING VIETNAM).

I expected WHAT JUST HAPPENED? to be more hard-hitting, that names would be named and that something new would be added to the Hollywood insider genre. Instead, it's easy to imagine the people that these characters are based on watching the movie, laughing obliviously and thinking to themselves, "I know someone like that". Of course Linson isn't going to shoot his ...

After failing to get THE WINTER OF FRANKIE MACHINE off the ground last year, Martin Scorsese is plotting another project which could mark a high profile reunion with his famous collaborator Robert De Niro for the first time since 1995's CASINO.

Variety say Scorsese will direct I HEARD YOU PAINT HOUSES at Paramount from a script by Steve Zaillian, the guy who Scorsese trusted with his life long passion project GANGS OF NEW YORK.

He's also the guy that Scorsese hired for SCHLINDER'S LIST before Marty instead did CAPE FEAR with De Niro and handed the project to Spielberg. Zaillian most recently wrote AMERICAN GANGSTER.

The movie is based on Charles Brandt's true crime book...

Pic’s title refers to mob slang for contract killings, and the resulting blood splatter on walls and floors. Book was written by Charles Brandt, who befriended Sheeran shortly before the latter’s death in 2003. Among the crimes Sheeran confessed to Brandt, according to the 2004 book, was the killing and dismemberment of Hoffa, carried out on orders from mob boss Russell Bufalino.
Even though THE WINTER OF FRANKIE MACHINE is no longer a Scorsese project, it's still in the hands of De Niro who is expected to make the movie ...

Matt here, MSN are promoting this Robert De Niro and Al Pacino interview as being the first time the two legendary actors have ever done press together.

I'm not going to disagree.

They are out promoting Righteous Kill, the first movie they have been fighting on the same side and I can't help but think that's where this movie went wrong.

It's just not as interesting to see such two popular and great actors on the same side when they don't have an A-list actor as the villain. But hey, I can't image anyone who has grown up watching these two actors over the past three decades, won't feel like they are getting their money's worth whatever movie they are starring in.

The movie is out TODAY in the U.S!

50 Cent, John Leguizamo, Donnie Wahlberg, Carla Gugino co-star for director Jon Avnet (88 Minutes, Fried Green Tomatoes) working from a Russell Gerwitz (Inside Man) script.

Ray Winstone will replace Robert De Niro in The Edge of Darkness according to Variety.

You may recall, De Niro left the film some days into shooting after suffering from "creative differences", which haven't been fully disclosed.

Martin Campbell's movie, based on his own late 80's Brit mini-series marks Mel Gibson's first on screen return in six years as a detective whose daughter is shot dead at his home. Ray Winstone plays the operative who attempts to clean up the mess.

Danny Huston, Shawn Roberts and Boja Novakovic co-star.

Shooting is already well under-way in Massachusetts.

Discuss: Does anyone else feel like Ray Winstone has become the "go to guy" for any kind of adult themed crime/thriller? He has done a terrific job of pushing himself into the top tier of actors chosen for these films.

Creative differences have seen screen legend Robert De Niro leave filming on the Martin Campbell directed thriller The Edge of Darkness after just one week on set, according to Variety.

The movie based on Campbell's own late 80's British t.v. mini-series, is Mel Gibson's first return to acting in six years, playing a homicide detective and father of a murdered young woman. De Niro had been set to play the operative sent to clean up the evidence in the tale involving government conspiracies and corporate cover-up.

Until they can re-cast the second lead role, the movie will awkwardly shoot around any of the scenes involving De Niro. Campbell has the unenvious task of re-casting a Two Time Academy Award Winner and Four Time Runner-Up.

Danny Huston, Shawn Roberts and Bojana Novakovic co-star.

As far as I know, De Niro has only ever walked out on a movie this close to it's production (filming in this case) and that was way back in the mid 70's when he left what would eventually become The Goodbye Girl (Richard Dreyfuss replaced him) so he could star in Taxi Driver.

That proved to be a very good choice but for such a huge actor, he has never troubled anyone ...

Robert De Niro is close to agreeing a deal to star opposite Mel Gibson in The Edge of Darkness, a thriller adaptation of a 1985 Bafta Award winning British t.v. series that was directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Mask of Zorro).

Campbell is back to helm this remake, which was adapted by Academy Award Winning scribe William Monahan (The Departed) for GK Films.
Gibson stars as Thomas Craven, a straitlaced homicide detective for the Boston Police Dept. and single father, whose 24-year old daughter is murdered on the steps of his home. The cop assumes he was the target, but his investigation leads in another direction and uncovers his daughter's secret life, a corporate cover-up and government collusion.

De Niro will play an operative sent to clean up the evidence.
Shooting begins later this month in Massachusetts.

The Edge of Darkness marks Gibson's first significant film role since his 2002 turns in Signs and We Were Soldiers. The movie also marks the first ever pairing of De Niro and Gibson.

Barry Levinson's comedy about a desperate movie producer (Robert De Niro) who trys to keep both his dignity and his soul amidst the problems of Hollywood politics and the breakup of his second marriage will be released on October 2nd (U.S. - no U.K. date yet) via Magnolia Pictures.

The movie has a great supporting cast with Bruce Willis (listed as himself like he did in Ocean's Twelve), Stanley Tucci, Catherine Keener, John Turturro and Kristen Stewart all on board. Interestingly the film is also said to be set to the soundtrack of the likes of Morricone, Nina Simone and Dire Straits, among others!

I've been vocal about my dislike for most of Levinson's output in the last 10 years (which is a massive long time to turn people off!) but there was a time with Rain Man, Good Morning Vietnam and Sleepers he was churning out some really top notch material.

And look at the projects on his upcoming schedule. An adaptation of Bill Bryson's A WALK IN THE WOODS and the Tom Hanks/Julianne Moore drama western BOONE'S LICK - this is not the same kind of lame and cruise control material he gave us with the "comedies" (I say it ...

Robert De Niro will play a widower who on a whim sets off on a road trip with his grown up kids in order to get close to them but soon discovers their lives are far from perfect in Everybody's Fine, the Miramax film which will begin shooting in Connecticut at the end of this month.

Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale & Sam Rockwell are also on board according to Variety, they are probably his three children.

The movie is actually a remake of a 1990 Italian film Stanno tutti bene from Giuseppe Tornatore who had previously helmed the classic Cinema Paradiso. Both films carry a Ennio Morricone score.

The remake will be written and directed by Kirk Jones (Waking Ned, Nanny McPhee).

Sounds a little bit like Jack Nicholson's About Schmidt.

I've never seen the original myself but the fact that it comes from Tornatore has peaked my interest. I absolutely adore his Paradiso movie.
