At 66, Harrison Ford looks amazing for his age. BUT...

Is it not a little creepy to think of him making out with Rachel McAdams?

Variety say McAdams is in final talks to join MORNING GLORY, the new comedy from Roger Michell (NOTTING HILL, ENDURING LOVE) which is being produced by J.J. Abrams.

She is in talks to play an aspiring news producer who tries to save a failing morning show by getting control of its feuding anchors. Ford plays one of the feuding anchors and presumably there will be love triangle, though the trades don't mention it. Also presumably (I'm doing a lot of that here aren't I?), McAdams is in talks for the role previously held by Reese Witherspoon before she dropped out well before Harrison Ford jumped on board last week.

Aline Brosh McKenna (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) wrote the script, so maybe there is no rom-com element as that Anne Hathaway/Meryl Streep movie had little of it.

Nice to see Oscar winning director James L. Brooks back in the game with a new romantic comedy after a four year break. Last week we heard rumblings from actress Reese Witherspoon that her new Cameron Crowe movie had been delayed and that she was to fill in the newly formed gap in her schedule with a rom-com from the director of TERMS OF ENDEARMENT and AS GOOD AS IT GETS.

Today Variety confirm it.

The movie has the working title HOW DO YOU KNOW? (which is expected to be changed) and is a Columbia Pictures movie that will shoot in March. Plot details are scarce but the movie is expected to have three leads, of which Reese is one. Something tells me that after her on set experience with her co-star of FOUR CHRISTMASES, that Vince Vaughn won't be the second or third lead.

VANILLA SKY and JERRY MAGUIRE director Cameron Crowe's first movie in over three years may be titled DEEP TIKI. Or it could just be a working title to fool the pap's and those sticking their noses into the production. According to /film, IRON MAN 2 is using the fake title RASPUTIN!

The maybe titled DEEP TIKI is to star Ben Stiller as a guy who hits a near mid-life crisis, takes a trip to Hawaii where he encounters problems with an old flame and a new woman in his life. You can read the script leak plot details HERE which also carries details of the film's soundtrack.

Reese Witherspoon co-stars as one of the ladies but tells Collider this week that the movie has been delayed from it's January start date till the Spring, as Witherspoon is busy shooting a James L. Brooks movie.

Crowe's last movie ELIZABETHTOWN was released in the Summer of 2005.

Harrison Ford has told MTV that he is returning to the comedy genre. His sights are firmly set on a movie being produced by J.J. Abrams from the writer of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and 27 DRESSES and that could co-star Reese Witherspoon.

The movie is MORNING GLORY and was first announced last year under the helm of Roger Michell (NOTTING HILL). Take your mind back over a year where we wrote...
Aline Brosh McKenna (“The Devil Wears Prada”) is penning the screenplay, which centers on a struggling female news producer and the iconic, temperamental anchorman she recruits to revive a failing network morning show.

Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing. Sherryl Clark exec produces.
Reese Witherspoon then found herself attached as the female news producer, presumably Ford will play the anchorman.

You have to go all the way back to SABRINA in 1995 to find Ford's last romantic comedy. He's got a great charm of course and a lot of the last INDIANA JONES movie saw him go through much of the rom-com routine. I would love to see him do this movie but then again, I think I would probably say that about any Harrison Ford potential project at this ...

Back in June, we heard that Cameron Crowe had setup his first movie since his 2005 flop ELIZABETHTOWN, said to be an untitled Columbia Pictures rom-com which would star A-list comedy stars Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon.

Four months later, we are finally starting to find out what the movie will be about thanks to Awards Daily, who report on a script leak. They call the movie a Crowe inspired soundtrack heavy version of JOE VS. THE VOLCANO...

A man, close to middle age, having problems with women. Semi-successful, but doesn’t know what to do with his life. Has crisis. Meets old flame. Had problems with her. Meets new, exciting, woman. Has problems with her. They’re all on Hawaii. Hijinks ensue. You guess the rest.
That whole premise sounds like it has snippets of all Crowe's filmography, especially the "semi-successful but doesn't know what to do with his life" seems to the typical Crowe protagonist.

One criticism that I hear constantly of Crowe, is that his movies rely on soundtracks to carry the narrative or to make his flimsy scenes carry more of an emotional pull. I disagree, I love the way he utilises music and moments, almost in dream like quality and in ...

I've noticed in the last few days a heavy increase in Christmas promotion around my local high street stores. The festive season really does seem to be getting earlier every year doesn't it?

And it's the same with the film industry. The last thing I want to see in mid-September, when the weather should still officially be "ok" (it's not) is a trailer for a damn festive movie. It's just way too soon. It also doesn't help when the movie looks as lame as this..

AFTER FRED CLAUS, SEE THE TRAILER FOR VINCE VAUGHN'S SECOND FESTIVE DISASTER IN CONSECUTIVE YEARS!

Don't you just hate mean-spirited Christmas movies? Especially mean-spirited romantic comedy Christmas movies?

We've heard lots of rumblings about troubles on the set of FOUR CHRISTMASES between co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn and you can see they have no chemistry together. You struggle to believe they actually like each other, let alone that they are in love.

I didn't laugh once, the jokes are awkward and uncomfortable. It looks stupid and actually rather vile. There's nothing of interest here, no hook or a resemblance of a plot worthy of anyone's money, unless you think seeing Jon Favreau with a dodgy biker haircuit is interesting?

Yey, rejoice!

Cameron Crowe is back, nearly three years after his most personal and subsequently mixed reviewed film ever Elizabethtown hit our screens and the fall-out led some to speculate that he had entered cinematic retirement, but thankfully Variety tell us he is about to put a movie into production.

It's a currently untitled rom-com and will shoot early next year with Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon. No plot details just yet but once again Crowe wrote the script for himself and will produce the movie at Columbia.

Now ya'll know that Cameron is one of my favourite film-makers out there making five movies which I can relate too in nearly equal parts, one of my favourite films ever Vanilla Sky, the brilliant Almost Famous, the Billy Wilder circa 1996 movie Jerry Maguire and the cool Say Anything. I also really enjoyed his personal endeavour Elizabethtown and for someone who lived away from his father at a vital point in my life, it means a great deal to me.

There's so much life to Crowe's movies, so much personality - I'm really surprised he isn't as popular as some other directors out there.

And a serious Stiller and Witherspoon rom-com could turn out ok. Surprisingly ...

Sony are downsizing the talent cost of NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2.

Originally we heard in December that "the best paid actress in Hollywood" Reese Witherspoon was offered the role of the historical female aviation pilot Amelia Earhart in the soon to be filming sequel of the outrageously popular 2006 festive hit.

Now Variety say Amy Adams has been cast in an 'unknown historical role' in the film and as she is the right age and could kinda look like Earhart quite easily, it's my guess that either Witherspoon turned them down, or the execs went for some cheaper.

The trades say her character will have a crush on Ben Stiller's security guard character when the artifacts from the Museum of Natural History are boxed up and sent to the archives at the Smithsonian in Washington, the new location for the series.

No word on the rest of the talent returning from the original, with only Dick Van Dyke's name added to the cast list on IMDB recently. I did expect Robin Williams to return but we've heard nothing on that front as yet, Carla Gugino I would be surprised to see back, same goes for Owen Wilson & Steve Coogan... though Ricky Gervais ...
