In the same week that Youth in Revolt comes out, someone has seen fit to offer us a stark alternative to the indie-esque comedy genre. What they're showing us, however, scares me to death in a way that the ghost of Christmas past would be proud of. For you see, Holy Water is an old-school romp that plays the image of the Irish scallywag to its fullest extent.

Or to put it differently, stretches it close to breaking point.

Set in a small Irish town (it was actually filmed in Devon, on the South coast of England, and you tell from most of the accents) the films follows a simple postman, cleaner in a run-down hotel, mechanic and labourer are sick of achieving nothing, having no-one and getting nowhere. They resolve that they cannot take any more, and decide to plan a daring heist that could see them set up for life. What is it that these underdog heroes are planning, do I hear you ask? Is it the classic bank job? A safety deposit box full of diamonds perhaps?

Nope, it's a lorry full of viagra that these lads decide will make them rich.

I feel I should warn you that, despite its ...

Linda Hamilton has confirmed last month's scoop that McG has held talks with her over TERMINATOR SALVATION, specifically the role of the voice-over at the film's beginning.

She tells MTV...
"We are talking"... "I haven't read it yet. I don't know what direction they will go in."

While she awaits the specifics in a script, Hamilton already knows what her role generally would be. "My contribution would be voiceover," she said. "I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They're already writing it. We've been negotiating it".
Which of course indicates that McG has not finished his movie yet, due out on May 21st (June 5th in the U.K.).

On the other hand, J.J. Abrams turned in his final cut of STAR TREK (due out May 8th) several weeks ago.

McG is mulling over several ways to connect his new movie TERMINATOR SALVATION with the previous trilogy. One of the options he has come up with is featuring an opening voice-over from Sarah Connor.

Coming Soon say he is flirting with asking Linda Hamilton to return for said voice-over, which would be her first involvement in the franchise sine TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. In August, Hamilton suggested she would be interested in a return.

The site has also learnt that McG has spent much time with THE DARK KNIGHT co-writer Jonathan Nolan over the fifth and sixth movie in the series and hinted that "time travel has yet to be explored" in the new series.

Take that for what you will!

Linda Hamilton's reps have suggested that the 51 year old actress would be very interested in hearing about a potential part or cameo in the upcoming Terminator Salvation after rumors yesterday were spread across the web claiming she had already agreed on a return.

Hamilton who hasn't been in a big movie for 11 years since Dante's Peak, turned down the opportunity of renewed exposure and a big paycheck when she said no to Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines on the grounds that she wouldn't do a Terminator movie without her ex husband director James Cameron.

But maybe financial times are a little harder on here now and the roles getting more difficult to come by and the fact that McG has held several talks and seems to have the blessing of Cameron - she may be inclined to change her mind.

Terminator Salvation is currently filming for a May 2009 release. Christian Bale leads the movie as John Connor who must lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators in the year 2018. Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Roland Kickinger, Moon Bloodgood, Jadagrace and Helena Bonham Carter star.

LINDA HAMILTON
AS
SARAH CONNOR

As Sarah Connor, Linda Hamilton was able to go through a transformation between the two films that could almost rival Schwarzenegger’s, from the fragile woman in peril in the first film to the bad ass soldier of T2. Before she took on her iconic role in THE TERMINATOR, Hamilton’s career had begun in TV before her first major film role in Steven King’s CHILDREN OF THE CORN, which was followed later that year by her first performance as Sarah Connor. After the success of THE TERMINATOR, Hamilton’s career didn’t really take off as one would’ve expected, her first big role in the years after was in BLACK MOON RISING an action film starring Tommy Lee Jones and the dude who played Hightower in POLICE ACADEMY.

Hamilton was then seen in the much maligned KING KONG LIVES, the biggest flop since yours truly after a night on the Jagermeister.

Hamilton soon returned to TV, starring in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, an updated retelling of the classic fairytale in which she played the titular beauty alongside future HELLBOY Ron Perlman as the ...
