James McTeigue has a REVELATION!

James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) has setup a new thriller over at the small Indie company Inferno titled Revelation.

It comes from John Salavti, the scribe of the upcoming biopic of Salvador Dali (starring Al Pacino & Cillian Murphy) and it will be shipped around Cannes next week…

Story centers on a female journalist who is assigned to investigate a series of bizarre murders and discovers that the victims were all being treated by the head of an org that researches alien abductions.

Sounds all X-Files like.

From the one movie we’ve seen of McTeigue - it’s clear his visual effects background will put him in great stead for visually arresting films but he’s got an awful long way to go before narrative he is as accomplished as we would like.

McTeigue is currently directing the action film Ninja Assassin which is being produced by the Wachowski’s. Revelation will be his first project without the safety brakes of the Wachowski’s.

Let’s see if he can attract any big names on his own.

source - variety

Rain is the Wachowski’s NINJA ASSASSIN

RainThe Wachowski’s have found work for V FOR VENDETTA visual-effects obsessive director James McTeigue. I wonder if he will ever be let out on a leash.

Variety say that McTeigue will direct NINJA ASSASSIN for Warner Brothers, a mysterious Wachowski produced project which will star their SPEED RACER actor Rain in the lead role. It will be only his second lead role after making the switch from South Korean pop stardom (though he still sings, he is doing a new version of Kung Fu Fighting for the awful looking animated movie KUNG FU PANDA), his previous lead role being in I’M A CYBORG, BUT THAT’S OK from Chan-wook Park.

And that’s about all we have on this one, the trades got nothing else to share.

Really like the title. NINJA ASSASSIN. I would love to see the HITMAN adaptation we all dreamed out but instead set in the world of Ninja’s. How cool would that be?
