Introducing Mark Cappuccio, a good friend of our chief critic Mike Edwards and the latest London based reviewer to join our staff. Please don't confuse Mark with our other reviewer Mark Clark! We will have to come up with some kind of idea to distinguish between the two!

Here it is another in the recent line of ‘him flicks’ as I call them following on from last years excellent Pineapple Express and The Boat That Rocked which means ostensibly romantic comedies for guys!

This time we follow Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd) as a successful real estate agent and all round good boyfriend and bloke. He has the girl of his dreams Zooey (Rashida Jones) and asks her to marry him and she agrees but he is crestfallen to find that he has no actual close male friends to call on to be his best man. He even thinks he can use his gay younger brother Robbie but he says he is their dad’s best friend and cant do it but he will help him find a new best friend and tells him to go on man dates with various guys from his gym and one he runs into at a work open ...

There's three levels of Judd Apatow.

First there's the movies he has directed which at the moment is two in KNOCKED UP and THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, two movies I absolutely love.

Second there's movies he has produced and that feature actors from his filmography which are good but not quite the level as the movies above with SUPERBAD, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL and THE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS.

Third there's movies he has had nothing at all to do with but features actors he has helped get over like the upcoming ROLE MODELS which looks dreadful. Movies that are trying to appeal to the same audience but aren't nearly as cleverly written or produced. I LOVE YOU, MAN features predominately in that category.

Paul Rudd and Jason Segel star in what looks to be a terribly unfunny movie about a guy who has a lost of girl friends but is in need of a male friend to be the best man at his wedding. It's from the director of ALONG CAME POLLY which similarly had very few laughs...

The movie opens March 20th in the U.S. and April 10th in the U.K.
