Rick O'Connell from THE MUMMY (Brendan Fraser) and INDIANA JONES (Harrison Ford, obviously) in the same movie together?

You don't need to tell me anymore, the soon to be filming CROWLEY already sounds like the stuff of legend. But for those that do, here's Production Weekly's scoop...
The drama is based on the true story of John (Fraser) and Aileen Crowley, whose two children had a rare genetic disorder. Rather than give up hope that nothing could help his children, John Crowley found a researcher (Ford) with a potential cure.

Ford also will executive produce the film inspired by a Wall Street Journal article and subsequent book, "The Cure," by Geeta Anand.
The role of Aileen has yet to be cast. How's about spending some big bucks to hire Angelina Jolie and let's get Lara Croft in on this adventure!

Though at this point I should mention it's to be directed by the same guy who brought us WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS and the overall disappointing STARTER FOR TEN. Though screenwriter Robert Nelson Jacobs is no hack (CHOCOLAT, THE WATER HORSE).

But Fraser and Ford on the hunt for a cure? AWESOME!

Believe it or not but self proclaimed comic book geek Brendan Fraser has revealed this week that he was offered the chance to play SUPERMAN back when J.J. Abrams was pitching his film six or so years ago.

Fraser even tried on the tights and cape. He liked the costume. He even screen tested for the role (he hopes it gets leaked one day so we can all see it... and so do I!) but reading between the lines, he turned it down because he didn't want to suffer the Christopher Reeve syndrome of being seen as Superman for the rest of his career.

Also he became annoyed that an "offer" for the role instead eventually became "subject to screen test approval".

But of course he admits he did said screen test, so maybe you know, maybe he was turned down after all and just doesn't like to say.

I imagine Fraser being likeable but not particularly a great Superman. He is too cocky, too self confident to be Clark Kent, too much of a guy who you would believe would rather be at home eating Nacho's than saving the world. He stumbles into danger and adventures, he doesn't go lucking for them.

All I ...

Well... you are not going to believe this.

It's the most shocking thing since man walked on the moon!

Matt LOVES the trailer for an upcoming Rob Cohen (Fast and the Furious, XXX, Stealth) movie!

I'm in love with the trailer for The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor!

I have no clue how /Film got hold of it but YOU HAVE TO GO AND SEE THE TRAILER RIGHT NOW!

You know my mind says this should look terrible and I know it will be but man if some of those beautiful and iconic shots of undead warriors, statues, Jet Li looking as evil as he has looked in years and just the warmth and character that Brendan Fraser oozes on screen doesn't win you over.

And yes, Maria Bello (she totally butches her main line) sucks and the character she plays should have been written out once Rachel Weisz decided not to return but I can live with that small problem if the flick lives up to this trailer.

Call me crazy, call me nuts but the trailer has won me over.

And at least they have done something different. It feels fresh, a new direction... not the same old same old with the same ...

Hate it, hate it, hate it.

Feels studio driven without a cent of real emotion to it. This movie should be a warning of what special effects and 3-D movies can become.

I stuck up for it for a while because I think Brendan Fraser makes a terrific male adventure lead but there's only so much I can take...

NEW TRAILER (Although I don't see much new about it, can be found HERE).

The movie opens July 11th worldwide.

Confirmation has come from the horse's mouth that Brendan Fraser will have a cameo in Stephen Sommers' blockbuster G.I. Joe, a reunion of the actor and director who worked together on the first two Mummy films.

His cameo as Gung-Ho we believe to have already been filmed. Fraser reveals to Newsarama that he gets to ride a three wheeled bike as part of his brief appearance...

Fraser was first rumored for a cameo in Joe earlier this month in the same report which said The Rock would have a more significant role as Shipwreck.

We await confirmation on that one.

Crazy, crazy news story from the good folks at Latino Review who have rarely been wrong in the past when it comes to blockbuster scoops for the biggest movies in Hollywood.

The site carry the exclusive news that Brendan Fraser will appear in G.I. Joe for a brief cameo (possibly setting up the chance to appear in future movies) and Sommers is trying desperately hard to convince The Rock to appear in a significant role. Both actors worked with Sommers on The Mummy franchise.

In Brendan Fraser's case, they claim he has already shot a one scene cameo in the training sequence segment of the film as Gung-Ho, who looks like a rather goofy fellow...

They also claim an offer has been made to The Rock to play Shipwreck...

Joe isn't my strong point so I have no idea who these guys are. We await some kind of confirmation.

This will probably be the first publicity for the average movie fan who will now be very much aware that Rachel Weisz is not returning for the flick. I wonder how much of an effect it will have on the financial success of the feature.

It certainly will effect the movie quality wise, I think we all know that..

The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor opens Aug, 1st (U.S.) and Aug, 7th (U.K.) from director Rob Cohen and will star Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Maria Bello, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Anthony Wong, Luke Ford and Isabella Leong.
