The weather is getting colder. The days are getting shorter. The darkness of night is beckoning quicker with each passing day as the end of the year draws nearer.

Writers are striking. Petrol prices are getting higher and higher. The war on terror goes on (and is being shoved down our throat in the cinema). People all over the country are getting more and more stressed with each passing day over what to buy their loved one's for Christmas as the mass commercial shopping rush begins.

And I'm sitting here as a film fan, just wanting... almost begging to be entertained on these cold nights.

I've only seen two films since September. I am now experiencing the slowest period of my movie watching experience this year.

LIONS FOR LAMBS looked boring. BEOWULF looks lifeless. HITMAN looks shocking.

I'm really struggling to find something to entertain me. And after a horrendous summer of bad movies, that is not a good thing at all.

There's a report today in Variety detailing the disappointing DVD sales of things like SPIDER-MAN 3 (the biggest opening movie of all time by the way) and FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER which were both expected to sell extremely well as soon ...

Even though the Justice League movie is moving ahead at a furious pace, Warner Bros seem adamant to not even acknowledge its existence - this despite the fact that everybody and their dog knows George Miller is prepping the project and casting has commenced in the US and Canada.

From our initial casting scoop I speculated that the movie might lens in Canada due to the presence of more offices up there than in the US, however it looks like that won’t be the case.

Thanks to info sent to us, primarily from an OWF reader in the Australian film community, we’ve now got several more bits of Justice League information to share with you:-
The studio has greenlit the project as their summer 2009 tentpole. Filming for the principals will take place in Sydney from February to June 2008 – George Miller was unsurprisingly listed as director in the info we got.

Auditions are starting up down under with Nikki Barrett (Baz Luhrmann’s Australia, The Proposition) hired to handle the casting in Australia. Ronna Kress (Beowulf, The Mummy 3) will oversee the entire casting process.

Oscar-winner Barrie M. Osborne (The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix) will take on producing duties; he’ll be joined ...

Warner Brothers are set to go ahead with one of the riskiest plans in the recent history of the studio as they push forward with a Justice League of America film which will have big ramifications to not only the Batman franchise, the Superman franchise but also their untapped characters Wonder Women, Green Lantern and The Flash. Basically, it's the studio's bread and butter from now and the next five years that could rely on this decision.

A JLA film is looking more and more likely as each day passes. A filming slot in the first quarter of 2008 has been muted with the movie eventually taking up the release date set aside for Superman: The Man of Steel in the summer of 2009. Some reports on the Internet even suggest that casting could begin any day now as WB are on the search for a new actor to play Batman and Superman as Christian Bale (through his own comments says he won't be involved) and Brandon Routh (who is desperate to be in this but WB don't want him in there, probably for conitunity reasons) are not going to appear.

The cold truth of the matter is that the Harry Potter ...
