Matt's Author Biography

Name: Matt Holmes

Location: U.K.

Role: Editor/Owner

After being appalled by a screening of Superman Returns on July 21st 2006, Matt Holmes decided to start his own movie blog as a vacuum to voice his anger at what he saw which eventually ended up, almost accidentally, as Obsessed With Film. Since then, the site has gone through more re-designs than Michael Jackson's face and is now the working express train that is OWF, the most frequently updated news and movie reviews site on the web (completely untrue, but it sounds good). Mission: Our aim is to tell the news honestly and in a manner for everyone to read, with the hope that you will be updated with the wacky going’s on in the movie industry and to also be entertained and often appalled by Matt and his crew’s movie opinions. Matt devours movies past and present... enjoying French movies of the 40's, 50's and 60's - the works of Alfred Hitchcock, Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns, Film Noir (especially Cagney, Welles & Bogart) and the new 90/00's revolution that brought us such great storytellers as Cameron Crowe, Quentin Tarantino, Chris Nolan, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, The Coens, Sam Mendes, Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro and Tim Burton. He regularly lists his favourite movies as being The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, North by Northwest, Vertigo, The Third Man, Citizen Kane, The Empire Strikes Back, À bout de souffle, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lost in Translation and Vanilla Sky. He also has a thing for Batman (Burton's and Nolan's). As well as being the editor of the site (the guy responsible for what content is up on the site), Matt writes the odd Blu-Ray review, keeps a Cinema Diary and has to reply to far too many e-mails everyday.
